HOP Tertiary Concession

If you're a student currently attending a tertiary institute, you may be eligible for a concession on your HOP card.

Students can buy an Adult HOP card and apply for a HOP tertiary concession to be loaded onto it. To prove your eligibility you will need to:

  • hold a current tertiary student ID with a current AT tertiary ID sticker (available from your tertiary institute).

It will take 10 working days from the time it is received, for your application to be processed and for the concession profile to be activated on your card. Current tertiary concessions expire on 31 March 2013; we suggest you renew your concession by 21 March to ensure you continue to receive your travel discount.

The tertiary profile on your HOP card will be valid until the expiry date of your student ID card or the AT Tertiary ID sticker, whichever date is earliest.

Tertiary students may only hold one HOP card with a tertiary profile on it.

An adult HOP card can have a tertiary concession loaded onto it

Your card is an Adult HOP card, but once the tertiary concession is loaded, the card will be embedded with a Tertiary profile. This means that you will pay tertiary fares until the profile expires.
